Russia Actively Engages with LAS and OIC on Presidential Elections

Russia maintains close contact with representatives of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) regarding the upcoming presidential elections, Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told TASS.

 

"We have good relations with the OIC and the Arab League. Our representatives are actively engaged in Cairo and Jeddah. On all matters, including election cycles in various countries, we maintain constant communication, ensuring coordinated approaches. We participate actively wherever necessary," he said.

 

The senior diplomat recounted that "he himself served as an observer during the Palestinian elections."

 

The Russian presidential election is set for March 17. Voting will span from March 15 to 17, marking the first three-day election for a Russian head of state.
