Russia and Algeria agreed on a joint fight against terrorism

The consolidation of efforts in the figh against international terrorism and extremist ideology has become one of the central topics of the talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Algerian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamamra.

 

 

Diplomats, as noted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, also discussed the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli crisis, as well as crisis in Syria and Libya, in Western Sahara and the Sahel region.

 

 

When resolving conflicts, as the ministers noted, it is necessary to rely on the fundamental principles and norms of international law, the UN Charter, including respect for the sovereignty and integrity of states, non-interference in their internal affairs. Another topic of negotiations was the further strengthening of partnerships, including foreign policy coordination and increasing the effectiveness of diverse ties.
