Russia and Bahrain Strengthen Ties in Energy and Industrial Sectors

The third plenary session of the intergovernmental Russia-Bahrain  commission focused on trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation took place in Manama. Led by Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova, the Russian delegation included key figures such as Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Alexei Skosyrev and representatives from various ministries, including economic development, agriculture, education, finance, energy, culture, industry, and trade. On the Bahraini side, Minister of Industry and Trade Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro spearheaded the delegation.

 

During the session, both parties engaged in discussions on collaborative opportunities across sectors like energy, industry, digital technologies, agriculture, and culture. Lyubimova emphasized the steadfast progression of Russian-Bahraini relations, highlighting their "growth from political dialogue to economic partnership and humanitarian connections."

 

Established in 2016, the Intergovernmental Russia-Bahrain Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation has been instrumental in fostering bilateral ties. The inaugural meeting occurred in Manama in February  2017, and in March  2020, Lyubimova was appointed as a co-chair alongside Fakhro, who has held the position since  2022. The secretariat's responsibilities are managed by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
