Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov held a telephone conversation with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Moscow, Ihab Nasr.
According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the conversation was held on the initiative of the Egyptian side.
"Topical issues on the regional agenda were discussed, with a focus on the situation in Yemen, Libya, Syria and the Palestinian-Israeli settlement. They exchanged views on ways to prevent the escalation of tension in the Middle East and North Africa," the message reads.
The diplomats also touched upon a number of topical issues of bilateral Russian-Egyptian relations.
