Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin met with Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Russia Ihab Nasr.
During the conversation, the diplomats discussed intensification of the Russian-Egyptian foreign policy coordination at the international level, including the UN.
They also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa with a focus on a settlement of crises in Syria, the Middle East peace process and the situation in Libya.
"In this context, similar approaches of Moscow and Cairo to the settlement of existing conflicts in the region using political and diplomatic methods was emphasized," is reported at the Russian MFA website.
