Russia and Egypt to increase cooperation in the settlement of Middle East conflicts

Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met the delegation from Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs headed by chairman Karim Darwish.

 

 

During the conversation, which was attended by Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Ihab Nasr, the parties discussed topical issues of further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Egyptian relations, including the upcoming Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi in October this year, chaired by Russian and Egyptian presidents Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

 

 

The sides also exchanged views on the development of the situation in the Middle East and North Africa. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening the multifaceted cooperation between Moscow and Cairo in the interests of resolving the existing conflicts in the region.
