Russia and France have discussed security issues in Europe

Today, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has met with the French Government’s Special Representative for relations with Russia, Jean-Pierre Chevenement. According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, during the conversation, a thorough exchange of views took place on security issues in the world and on the European continent, on arms control issues, including the situation around the INF.

 

 

It is known that the United States had begun the procedure for withdrawing from the INF Treaty on February 1st. Russia the next day had announced a simultaneous solution and suspended its participation in the treaty.
