Russian inter-agency delegation of Russian Presidential Special Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin and the representatives of the Russian Ministry of defense held consultations in Paris with the French delegation headed by French Presidential Special Envoy for Syria Francois Sénémaud.
The sides exchanged views on the Syrian settlement, including efforts to finally eliminate the terrorist threat, the task of providing the necessary humanitarian assistance and measures to advance the political process.
At the same time, both the Russian and French sides reaffirmed their commitment to restoring the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Syria as the basis for establishing long-term stability and security in the country and in the region in general.
