Russia and India discuss joint fight against terrorism

The 11th meeting of the Russia-India joint working group on counter terrorism was held in New Delhi on October 30, 2019. 


The parties, according to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and emphasized the need for strengthening international cooperation to combat terrorism in a comprehensive and sustained manner without any "double standards. 


Both sides discussed national efforts on some of the world's most pressing counter terrorism challenges including countering radicalization and extremism, combating financing of terrorism, misuse of internet for terrorist purposes, movement of foreign fighters and drug trafficking.


Measures to further strengthen and deepen counter-terrorist cooperation were also considered.


Both sides agreed to increase joint efforts to fight against terrorism and its financing at multilateral forums including the UN, SCO, BRICS, and FATF.
