Russia and India discussed arms control

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov held consultations with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, Vijay Gokhale.

 

 

According to the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, diplomats discussed a number of issues related to the development of bilateral multi-faceted ties between Russia and India.

 

 

Special attention is paid to cooperation within BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), as well as to the problems of the leading multilateral export control regimes, including the application of New Delhi for membership in the Nuclear Suppliers Group.

 

 

The unity of approaches of two states to the issues of non-proliferation and arms control is underlined.
