At the initiative of the Iranian side, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin had a telephone conversation with Senior Aide to the Iranian Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs Ali Asghar Haji.
During the conversation, according to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties had a detailed exchange of views on the situation in Syria, including the situation "on the ground", measures of humanitarian assistance to combat the coronavirus epidemic, as well as issues of promoting the political process, with an emphasis on continuing the work of the Constitutional Committee in Geneva.
In addition, the tasks of establishing a lasting ceasefire and stabilizing the situation in Yemen, as well as efforts to solve humanitarian problems, including those undertaken by the UN, were considered.
