The secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev met with the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani in Tehran.
The sides discussed security cooperation and the international agenda.
"Nikolai Patrushev and Ali Shamkhani discussed various topics of Russian-Iranian cooperation in the field of security, as well as a number of issues on the international agenda," the official representative of the Russian Security Council Yevgeny Anoshin said following the meeting.
Special attention was paid to the importance of maintaining the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program.
