Russia and Iran to increase the tourist flow

25 December 2019

New Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali announced his intention to work on increasing the tourist flow between the two countries. At the moment, as the diplomat noted in an interview for RIA Novosti, the indicators in this area remain extremely low.

According to Jalali, in the cultural sphere, Russia and Iran have quite close relations but Russians and Iranians do not know each other well.

"For this reason, it is necessary to expand ties and communication between the two countries. In our opinion, the number of tourists who come from Russia to Iran and from Iran to Russia is low. We can definitely increase it," the Ambassador said.

The former member of Parliament Kazem Jalali replaced Mehdi Sanaei, who represented the interests of his country since 2013 as the Iranian Ambassador.
