Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Moscow, Haydar Hadi.
The meeting, as reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, was held at the request of the Iraqi side.
The central topics of discussion were key aspects of the regional agenda, in particular, the situation in Iraq and Syria, including in connection with the efforts undertaken by the international community to eradicate the remaining hotbeds of terrorist threat for the Middle East region.
Separately, diplomats discussed a number of practical issues of bilateral cooperation.
Recall that in April of this year, the 8th meeting of the Russian-Iraqi Commission of trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation will be held in Baghdad.
