During his visit to Baghdad, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with his Iraqi counterpart Mohamed Ali Alhakim. The parties discussed cooperation between the two countries in defense, energy and oil and gas.
"We exchanged views on the possibilities of increasing trade between Russia and Iraq and intensifying investment activities in defense, energy and oil and gas," Alhakim told reporters after the talks.
Also at the meeting, according to the Iraqi Minister, the diplomats discussed cooperation between Russia and Iraq in trade, economic and investment spheres and possible investments of Russian companies in the infrastructure of Iraq.
