Russian-Kazakhstani consultations on biosafety issues were held in Moscow. According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the participants exchanged views on the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention, as well as on ensuring biosafety in the post-Soviet space.

"The consultations confirmed Russia and Kazakhstan’s common approaches.  The parties noted the need for further close coordination and reaffirmed their readiness for further constructive cooperation at specialised multilateral platforms.  They agreed to further develop the Russian-Kazakhstani partnership in ensuring biosafety, including by holding regular bilateral interdepartmental consultations on this issue," the statement reads.
