Russia and Kyrgyzstan agreed on joint suppression of the financing of terrorism

During the meeting in Bishkek, the presidents of Russia and Kyrgyzstan Vladimir Putin and Sooronbay Jeenbekov focused on the need to prevent the spread of terrorist and extremist ideology, financial and logistical support for terrorism.

 

This is stated in the statement of the leaders of the two countries on the results of the negotiations.

 

«The presidents noted that the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic will continue consistently to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the fight against international terrorism, religious extremism, various forms of transnational organized crime, corruption, legalization of proceeds from crime, illicit drug trafficking, psychotropic substances and their smuggling, crimes against cultural property, illegal arms trafficking and other challenges and threats and in the interests of ensuring the national security of the two states and maintaining regional stability», the document notes.

 

In addition, Putin and Jeenbekov spoke in favor of strengthening the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan and developing Russian military facilities on its territory.
