Russia and Kyrgyzstan approve strategic partnership development program until 2025

Russian Defense Minister, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu discussed with the head of the Defense Ministry of Kyrgyzstan, Major General Taalaibek Omuraliev the issues of cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of defense and maintaining stability in the Central Asian region, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters.


"Our interaction in the military sphere is an important factor in maintaining stability in the Central Asian region. We intend to develop it further," said Shoigu.


In his turn, the Defense Minister of Kyrgyzstan thanked Shoigu for the meeting and congratulated him on Fatherland Defender's Day.


According to the information of the Defense Ministry of Russia, "a protocol on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of Kyrgyzstan was signed and the Program of Development of Strategic Partnership of the two countries in the military sphere for the period from 2021 to 2025 was approved".


Omuraliev added that the approved Strategic Partnership Development Program will have a positive impact on the defense capability of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces, as well as on the security system of the Central Asian region as a whole.
