Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin and Mauritanian National Defense Minister Hanan Ould Seidi signed an agreement on military cooperation between the two countries, the Russian Defense Ministry told journalists on Wednesday.
The military leaders signed the document during a meeting on the margins of the Moscow Conference on International Security.
"The sides noted the importance of developing bilateral Russian-Mauritanian military cooperation and expressed their readiness to start implementing the agreement as soon as possible," the Russian military ministry said.
