Russia and Nicaragua agree to develop cooperation on counterterrorism

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with Foreign Minister of Nicaragua Denis Moncada Colindres today in Moscow.


The Ministers, according to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, noted the strengthening of Russian-Nicaraguan relations and underlined that increasing multifaceted ties in politics, trade, economic, investment, military-technical and humanitarian spheres, as well as the strengthening of bilateral cooperation on the international arena, meets the interests of the Russian and Nicaraguan people.


The parties spoke in favor of consolidating the efforts of the international community to combat terrorism and pointed to the inadmissibility of politicization and double standards in this area.


"The Ministers stressed the readiness of Russia and Nicaragua to develop cooperation in the fight against terrorism, transnational organized crime and drug trafficking," the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry reads.
