Russia and Qatar Collaborate to Reunite Children Evacuated from Conflict Zones with Their Families

08 November

Russia and Qatar are continuing consultations aimed at reuniting children evacuated from conflict zones with their families, Dmitry Dogadkin, Russia's Ambassador to Qatar, told TASS.

“Relevant consultations are ongoing. This is a constant, painstaking, and highly complex effort, in which Qatar plays a crucial role by providing assistance in reuniting families,” Dogadkin noted.

The head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Doha recalled that “in April this year, a group of children and their families arrived in Qatar for a rehabilitation program.” Dogadkin emphasized that “each case is approached individually, with a flexible and detailed approach.” “If necessary, Doha is ready to expand its efforts and explore new avenues,” he added.

On September 26, nine children were reunited with their relatives living in Ukraine, thanks to the efforts of Maria Lvova-Belova, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, and Qatar's mediation. According to Lvova-Belova, the group consisted of eight boys and one girl. With her assistance, 80 children from 62 families have been reunited with their relatives in Ukraine and third countries, while 13 children from eight families have returned to their relatives in Russia.
