Russia and Sierra Leone discuss the fight against terrorism

Another round of Russian - Sierra Leone consultations with the participation of Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sierra Leone Solomon Jamiru took place in the Russian Foreign Ministry. 

 

 


As reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed topical issues of Russian-Sierra Leone cooperation in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian fields.

 

 


Special attention was paid to key aspects of the global and pan-African agenda, in particular, the maintenance of peace and stability in Africa, the settlement of regional conflicts and the fight against international terrorism.

 

 


Sierra Leone is a country on the southwest coast of West Africa, a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

 

 


As for the religious composition of the population, there are 60%  of  Muslims, 30% practice traditional religion, 10% are Christians.
