Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov met with the personal representative of the Nizari spiritual leader of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV Shafiq Sashedin.
According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the parties discussed issues of further development of diverse relations between the Russian Federation and the Aga Khan IV Foundation, including in the humanitarian, scientific and educational spheres.
Special attention is paid to the situation in the Middle East, in particular, in Syria. Shafiq Sashedin praised Russia’s efforts to speedily resolve the political and diplomatic resolution of the ongoing conflicts in the region.
