Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya Ghassan Salame.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, during the conversation, the diplomats discussed a range of issues to resolve the Libyan crisis with a focus on the UN efforts to establish a sustainable inclusive inter-Libyan negotiation process aimed at ensuring Libya’s unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty.
To achieve this, as stressed by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the United Nations, it’s possible only through the creation of uniform, effective government bodies on a consensus basis.
