13 December 2019

Turkey and Russia  plan to sign an agreement on the supplies of more S-400 systems,  Head of Turkey's Defense Industry Directorate Ismail Demir said, Bloomberg reports.

"The talks on Turkey’s deal to purchase a second S-400 batch from Russia have reached a "quite ripe" stage. The signing of a deal is just around the corner," he said, in particular.

Ankara and Moscow, according to Demir, also plan to sign an agreement to jointly produce missiles.

The deal is worth 2.5  billion dollars. The first stage of the delivery process took place in July 2019.

The United States and NATO actively oppose Turkey’s purchase of the S-400 systems.
