Russia and Turkmenistan agreed to cooperate on information security

The governments of Russia and Turkmenistan have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of ensuring international information security.

 

 

The document was signed on the margins of the CIS Ministerial Council meeting in Moscow by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

 

 

According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the document «demonstrates the inviolability of the strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan, emphasizes the desire of the two countries to increase bilateral cooperation and coordinate positions on one of the key of the international and national security system, and also follows the policy of permanent positive neutrality pursued by Ashgabat».

 

 

The agreement provides for the establishment of a direct dialogue between the competent authorities of Russia and Turkmenistan on the entire spectrum of the international information security issues, as well as regular bilateral inter-ministerial consultations on this topic.
