The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov held consultations with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Felix Plasencia.
According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, during the consultations, «held in a trustful and constructive atmosphere inherent in the Russian-Venezuelan dialogue», topical issues of the global agenda and interaction between Russia and Venezuela in the international organisations, as well as current issues of Russian-Venezuelan cooperation were discussed.
Diplomats reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to resolving political differences in Venezuela by peaceful means through an inclusive dialogue between political forces. The necessity was stressed out for all interested parties to respect state sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, as well as non-use of force or threat of force.
