The next ministerial meeting of Russia and the Arab League may be held in the first half of the year. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this on Monday following talks with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein.
"We are now working on the next ministerial meeting of Russia and the Arab League. It should take place, hopefully, in the first half of this year," he said.
During the meeting, Lavrov said, "the problems of the long-suffering Middle East region" will be discussed first and foremost. "Of course, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the task of creating a Palestinian state are among the key priorities," the Russian foreign minister continued. - "We are glad that the League does not forget about this conflict and together with us seeks the renewal of the international community's efforts to solve the tasks that were once set by the UN Council and the General Assembly, which the West is blatantly trying to push to the background under the pretext of imposing its interpretation of what is happening in Ukraine, where a hybrid war against our country has been unleashed."
