The Russian Foreign Ministry published a comment in connection with the terrorist attacks that occurred earlier in Afghanistan. The statement, in particular, calls to find the perpetrators and hold responsible for a terrorist attack on a hospital in Kabul, which killed 14 people.
"We urge all warring parties in the Afghan conflict and the international coalition to find the perpetrators and hold them responsible. Every effort must be made to stop the pain and suffering that ISIS* brings with it and to prevent the creation of a terrorist stronghold in Afghanistan. It is hardly possible to call those who committed this act human. We express our condolences to the families and friends of the victims, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the message reads.
Zamir Kabulov, Special Presidential Representative for Afghanistan, Director of the Second Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said RIA Novosti that Moscow strongly condemns the latest terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, but warns that the President's order to resume offensive actions against the Taliban threatens to become an obstacle to launching inter-Afghan talks. The diplomat also drew attention to the fact that the Taliban denied their involvement in the attacks.
On May 12, two terrorist attacks were committed in Afghanistan, the victims of which were dozens of people.
A suicide bomber detonated at the entrance to a hospital in the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul, after militants broke into the hospital building. As a result of the attack, 14 people were killed, including two newborn children, and a large number of people were injured.
The second attack was committed at the funeral of the head of the police in one of the districts of Nangarhar province. As a result of the explosion, according to the latest data, 32 people were killed and 103 others were injured.
The explosive device was set off by a suicide bomber. The ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
After the attacks, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani ordered all the country's security forces to switch to an "offensive" form of fighting the radical Taliban* movement.
