Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov met with Amal Abou Zeid, Advisor to the President of the Lebanese Republic.
During the conversation, a detailed discussion of the development of the situation in Lebanon took place.
"At the same time, the Russian side confirmed its support for the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the friendly Lebanese Republic. Also, Bogdanov expressed hope for the successful approval of the new composition of the Lebanese government and the beginning of practical work to ensure long-term financial and economic stabilization of Lebanon," the statement reads.
Moscow expressed its intention to further strengthen the multifaceted mutually beneficial cooperation with Beirut.
