Moscow hopes to continue strengthening dialogue with Doha on all fronts, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday as he opened talks with Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani.
"Your delegation has already held a number of important meetings in the Russian government, ministries and agencies. I am convinced that the results of the visit of your delegation, which includes the Qatari Minister of Finance, will allow us to advance our relations in all areas," the minister said.
Lavrov stressed that Russia and Qatar have positive dynamics of trade turnover, the implementation of joint projects in the investment sphere, inter-parliamentary contacts are going on, the countries also cooperate in culture, education and sports. "All this enriches both bilateral relations and our ability to cooperate in the international arena," the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
