Russia has delivered another batch of humanitarian aid to Syria. Almost 850 tons of cargo were delivered to the Syrian port of Tartus by the Russian container ship Sparta-2, Major General Andrey Teryukhov, the chief of staff of logistics of force grouping of the Russian Armed Forces in Syria, reports.

"As humanitarian aid to the population, 846 tons of food were delivered from the Russian Federation to the port of Tartus in the Syrian Arab Republic," TASS quoted Teryukhov as saying.

After unloading, the products will be distributed in convoys and sent to the seven regional departments of the center for reconciliation of the warring parties.

Some of the humanitarian aid will be sent to the provinces beyond the Euphrates, where it is particularly needed.

In total, since 2016, as the Major General recalled, Russia has already conducted more than 2,400 humanitarian actions and sent more than 4,000 tons of food and bottled water, as well as urgently needed items to Syrians.

In addition, Russia sent more than 4,500 tons of building materials and construction equipment to Syria. Currently, 176 pre-school institutions and 225 schools are being repaired and restored in 10 provinces.
