Russia Discusses Security of its Citizens in Lebanon with Lebanese Ambassador

Russian Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, met with the Lebanese Ambassador to Russia,  Shawki Bou Nassar, to discuss the situation in Lebanon following Israel's attacks. The two diplomats also talked about ensuring the safety of Russian citizens living in the country. 



“The meeting focused on providing additional humanitarian assistance to Lebanon and ensuring the safety of Russian citizens living in the country,” said the ministry.



The two sides discussed the current situation in Lebanon and its surroundings in detail. “During the conversation, Russia strongly condemned the indiscriminate attacks on Lebanese cities and villages, which have resulted in thousands of civilian casualties, including medical personnel, rescuers, and journalists. Russia also expressed deep concern about the ongoing threat of further escalation of the conflict. The position of the Russian Federation on supporting the unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of the Lebanese Republic remains unchanged,” the statement said.



The meeting was initiated by the Lebanese ambassador.
