Russia has almost doubled quotas for free education of students from Uzbekistan

Russia increased from 228 to 405 places the quota for students from Uzbekistan to study for free in its universities. This was announced on Thursday by the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office, Mikhail Vozhdayev.


"Last year, the quota for future students from Uzbekistan was 228 places, this year it has almost doubled and reached 405," Vozhdayev said. According to him, the registration of applications of young people from Uzbekistan, who want to study at Russian universities this year, will begin on January 29 or February 1 and will be completed by March 1.


He noted that the registration will be in electronic format. Information on required documents can be found on the representative office website.


"Screening exams, if the epidemiological situation allows it, are planned to be held in person. It will be written tests," Vozhdayev added. According to his data, a Russian language test is mandatory for all applicants, regardless of the directions. In addition, future humanities students, doctors, economists and engineers will take history, chemistry, biology, physics and math.


The selection process is expected to be completed in mid-April, at which time the list of Uzbek students who will be eligible for free education at Russian universities will be compiled.
