Russia calls on all nuclear powers to hold a large-scale conference on the creation of a zone free of weapons of mass destruction (WMD). About this, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council dedicated to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, the Russia’s Permanent Representative in the Organization of Vasily Nebenzya said.
«It is important that other states of the nuclear five, and most importantly all the countries of the Middle East, join in the efforts to convene and hold the conference», the diplomat emphasized.
Nebenzya recalled that the decision to convene a conference on the establishment for the Middle East of a zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, in December 2018, was approved by the UN General Assembly.
