Russia Hopes to Boost Air Traffic with Kazakhstan

08 April 2021

Russia is hoping to expand air traffic with Kazakhstan as the epidemiological situation improves. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this on Thursday at a press conference following talks with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

“Today we have discussed how Kazakh students can return to study in Russia in the most comfortable way, using not only ground transport, but also air travel, which has resumed, and we are interested in expanding it as the epidemiological situation improves”, he said.

Lavrov drew attention to the fact that over 66 thousand Kazakh students study in Russia, half of whom study at the expanse of the Russian budget. “For our part, we have confirmed our readiness to receive students from Kazakhstan, and access to full-time education has been resumed for them”, the Head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
