Russia Intends to Share National Security Expertise with BRICS Countries

17 June

Russian parliamentarians are ready to share their experience in national security and sovereignty protection with their BRICS counterparts. This statement was made by Victoria Nikolaeva, a member of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, during a specialized session of the international interparty forum in the "BRICS and Partner Countries" format in Vladivostok.

“We closely cooperate with parliaments from various countries and are preparing proposals for legislative and law enforcement measures to respond to external threats. [...] Russia has unique experience, including in legislation, on countering terrorism and drug trafficking, which could be valuable and applicable in your countries. Esteemed colleagues, we are ready to share legislative experience, exchange best practices, and are interested in learning about your experiences in the field of legislative support for national security and, of course, the protection of sovereignty,” said the deputy.

She emphasized that the most serious threat is the systematic disregard by a group of states, led by the USA, for the fundamental norms and principles of international law. This includes the use of sanction pressure methods, violation of state sovereignty, and interference in internal affairs.
