Russia is ready to localize the production of weapons and military equipment in the United Arab Emirates, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said during talks with his UAE counterpart Al Jaberi Mubarak Said.
"We, Russia, are ready not only to supply equipment and weapons but also to share technology and localize production in your country," Fomin said.
He noted that the UAE is a self-sufficient, independent state that actively buys weapons and military equipment. "And what is remarkable and commendable is that it is developing its own industry, the high-tech industry," Fomin stressed.
According to his assessment, Russia and the UAE are developing relations "in all possible directions, first of all, political," cooperating in the economy, trade, culture and other spheres.
In turn, the UAE Deputy Minister of Defense and Defense Industry Support thanked for the opportunity to be at the opening ceremony of the Army-2021 International Military and Technical Forum and the Army International Games.
"First of all, I would like to convey the best greetings from the Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates to you personally. He wishes that this exhibition, this forum will continue and grow in its size," the military commander said.
