Russia offered the President of Kyrgyzstan assistance in resolving the situation

Russia has repeatedly offered Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov assistance in resolving the situation in the republic, the press service of the Kyrgyz leader told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.


According to the press service, on Monday Jeenbekov in Bishkek held a meeting with the deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov also took part in the meeting.


"From the first days of the crisis in the social and political situation in the country,  President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov held numerous telephone conversations with  President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Kyrgyzstan and Russia are allies and strategic partners, as well as members of the CSTO, EAEC, CIS and SCO. The Russian side has expressed concern and offered its assistance in resolving the situation since the situation arose," the press service said.
