Russia Proposes Ministerial Meeting to Address Palestinian-Israeli Conflict

10 November 2023

Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov affirmed the ongoing relevance of Russia's proposal for a meeting at the level of regional ministers to address the resolution of the conflict between Israel and Palestine. This statement was made during an interview on the Russia-24 TV channel.

"The proposal to convene a meeting at the ministerial level involving all regional countries remains pertinent. Ideas shouldn't be imposed from afar; rather, regional powers should play a pivotal role here," expressed the ambassador.

"The US is behaving like a bull in a china shop, which could result not just in broken dishes, but in toppling shelves. They can fabricate whatever they want on this issue (conflict settlement - TASS), but there's certainly a matter being exploited, including by our former American partners," Viktorov added.

He emphasized the need to secure "political and organizational unity within Palestine." "This stands as one of the obstacles to further progress in the peace process," highlighted the diplomat.
