Russia proposes Turkey to reopen three checkpoints in Syria

Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties has sent a proposal to Turkey to reopen two checkpoints in the Idlib de-escalation zone and a checkpoint in the Aleppo province from March 25 because of the difficult humanitarian situation, Rear Admiral Alexander Karpov, deputy head of the Russian center in Syria, told reporters.


"In connection with the difficult humanitarian situation in the territories of the Syrian Arab Republic under the control of the Turkish armed forces, the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties sent proposals to the Turkish side to resume the operation of the Saraqib and Miznaz checkpoints in the Idlib de-escalation zone and the Abu Zeidin checkpoint near the Aleppo settlement," Karpov said.


According to him, the admission of humanitarian cargoes and the exit of refugees is proposed to be organized starting from March 25.


Shelling


Karpov also said that no shelling by Turkey-controlled illegal armed groups has been registered over the past 24 hours.


"At the same time, in the Idlib de-escalation zone, 25 shots were recorded from the positions of the terrorist group "Jabhat al-Nusra" (banned in Russia - TASS), including according to the Syrian side - 19 shots," the deputy head of the center said.


He said that the shellings were recorded in Idlib, Latakia, Aleppo and Hama provinces.
