Russia has proposed utilizing its Khmeimim airbase and naval base in Tartus to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Syria, President Vladimir Putin announced during a combined direct line and press conference.
“We have already made this offer to our partners, including those present in Syria and neighboring countries. We proposed using the Khmeimim airbase for humanitarian aid deliveries to Syria,” Putin said, noting that the suggestion was met with understanding. “The same applies to the naval base in Tartus,” he added.
