Russia Seeks to Elevate Trade and Economic Ties with Gambia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has emphasized the importance of enhancing trade and economic ties between Russia and Gambia to the level of political dialogue, which is currently thriving. This statement was made during his meeting with Gambian Foreign Minister Mamadou Tangara.

 

Lavrov highlighted the historical friendship between Russia and Gambia, stating that their relationship is founded on principles of equality and mutual respect. He also noted the progress being made in bilateral political dialogue at various levels.

 

 

"Elevating our trade and economic ties to the level of our robust political dialogue would be beneficial," - Lavrov said. - "We are prepared for this, and we are eager to expand cooperation in areas such as humanitarian and educational sectors."

 

He expressed hope that the discussions taking place today would enable them to set specific objectives for these issues.
