Russia sends 54 wagons with humanitarian aid to Nagorno-Karabakh

Humanitarian aid for Nagorno-Karabakh consisting of 54 rail cars has been sent from Russia, the Russian Emergencies Ministry's press service told TASS on Wednesday.


"Fifty-four rail cars with humanitarian aid with a total weight of about 1,200 tons have been sent to Nagorno-Karabakh from eight Russian cities. Arrival is expected in the next few days," the Ministry of Emergency Situations said. Earlier, 352 tons of building materials were delivered to the unrecognized republic by three automobile convoys.


Pyrotechnicians of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations found and deactivated more than 2,000 explosive objects on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. "Humanitarian demining in Stepanakert and its surroundings was carried out on an area of more than 30 hectares, where more than 2 thousand explosive objects were found," the press service said.


Russian humanitarian aid to Nagorno-Karabakh in the form of building materials helped to restore nearly 30 houses and social facilities, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said. "The Russian Emergencies Ministry's grouping forces are assisting in the distribution and delivery of humanitarian cargo to the regions of Nagorno-Karabakh. As a result, 28 social facilities and homes have already been restored, work continues at 147 sites," the ministry said.


At the same time, assistance with minor repairs of housing is provided. Rescuers through the Ministry of Construction of the unrecognized republic registered more than 2.1 thousand applications for the repair of windows and damaged doors. Of these, 180 applications have already been fulfilled.
