Russia states that trilateral agreements on Karabakh are being implemented

Moscow notes that the trilateral statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on November 9, 2020, on the full cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh is being implemented in general, while Baku and Yerevan remain committed to complying with all its provisions, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on the anniversary of the trilateral agreements.


"Today we can state that the agreements fixed in the Statement of November 9, 2020, are being implemented in general. It is important that Baku and Yerevan remain committed to further implementation and strict observation of all its provisions," pointed out the Russian diplomatic mission.


The Foreign Ministry stated that Russia will contribute to normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. "We will fully contribute to normalizing relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and will support peace initiatives aimed at expanding contacts at all levels on a wide range of issues of stability, security and economic development of the South Caucasus," the statement said. - "We are also ready to promote dialogue between representatives of the public of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia with the participation of the Russian Federation in order to create an atmosphere of trust between the Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples".


"We stand for building good neighborly relations between the South Caucasus countries and their neighbors, development of mutually beneficial regional cooperation," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.


The Russian Foreign Ministry also said that Russia notes the importance of reducing tension on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border and the early launch of the delimitation process, and is ready to provide consultative assistance in this matter.
