Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received the head of the Iraqi national project, Jamal Al-Dhari.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the main aspects of the Middle East agenda, with an emphasis on the current situation in and around Iraq.
"The Russian side confirmed its consistent line in support of the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Iraqi state, and noted the importance of achieving sustainable inter - Iraqi harmony through a comprehensive national dialogue in the interests of all political forces and ethnic and religious groups in the country", the message reads.
In the past few months, during anti-government protests continuing in Iraq more than 500 people were killed.
