The Russian side strongly condemns the "act of sacrilege" with the burning of the Quran by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). This was stated in a commentary distributed on Thursday by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
"The Kiev regime, which has definitively lost its moral guidelines, continues to deliberately pander to practices that flagrantly violate the rights of believers, insult their feelings and cause them deep emotional suffering. Another blasphemy of morally degraded people was the mockery of the holy Quran and its subsequent burning, recorded on video and distributed through social networks by the AFU soldiers," said the diplomat. - "We strongly condemn this and other acts of sacrilege by the regime of [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky and his henchmen, regardless of what religion or confession they are directed against."
