Russia to supply Halal vaccines to the Islamic world

Specialists of the St. Petersburg Scientific Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums and Biopharmaceutical Plant under Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia are studying the possibility of launching the production of Halal vaccines in the Islamic world.

 

 


The representatives of Pharmaniaga - the leading pharmaceutical company of Malaysia - have recently visited the production site of SPbSRIVS.

 

 


During the talks, the guests expressed their interest in supplying of Russian influenza vaccine to Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries in the region.

 

 


In addition, the parties discussed the possibility to establish the production of vaccines complying with the "Halal" standard, i.e. absence of alcohol and other prohibited substances in Islam.

 

 


In this regard, the Director of SPbSRIVS FMBA of Russia Viktor Trukhin emphasized that the company already has experience in developing of immunobiological production in Nicaragua.
