12 April 2023

Digital Industrial Platform, a joint venture between Gazprom Neft and industrial software developer Zyfra GC, is negotiating to supply software to oil and petrochemical companies in Iran, Director of strategic projects of the joint venture Alexei Tribunsky told TASS.

"We are in talks with Iranian oil and petrochemical companies about implementing our solutions, and Iranian partners are interested in <...> - Zyfra Industrial IoT Platform Oil&Gas digital industrial platform," Tribunsky said.

He specified that the Iranian IT markets peculiarity is the almost complete absence of large corporate implementations of industrial solutions.

"This was due to years of sanctions that cut off the country from foreign vendors, and also because ensuring sales was a more acute issue for the industry than efficiency," Tribunsky said.

At the same time, Iran may also be interested in joint construction of petrochemical plants and solar power plants together with Russia. Russian companies, in turn, may be interested in Iran's accumulated competencies in the production of gas turbines, Alexander Chernyi, architect of Reksoft Consulting's Transformation Strategy practice, told TASS.

Deputy Minister for Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Communications of the Islamic Republic of Iran Meisam Abedi will take part in the forum - "Domestic Software - Effective Solutions" within the framework of the Russian Week of High Technologies. It was reported by Vladimir Kononov, chairman of the organizing committee of the Russian Week of High Technologies, deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on science and higher education. This year the Russian High Technology Week is held in Moscow from April 11 to 14.
