Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin will take part in the third conference of the Speakers of the parliaments on counter-terrorism and strengthening regional cooperation, which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey on October 12.
According to the press service of the Lower House, Volodin had a telephone conversation with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Şentop.
The parties discussed the agenda of the upcoming conference.
The participants of the conference will discuss the formation of an integrated approach and harmonization of legislation in the fight against terrorism as well as strengthening interregional cooperation.
The event will be attended by Russia, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, China, and Iran.
Bilateral meetings of the Chairman of the State Duma with the Speakers of the parliaments of Turkey, Afghanistan, and Pakistan are also planned on the sidelines of the conference.
